Where Junior Players Learn, Grow & Compete

Junior instruction at Advantage Tennis Center is built around purposeful development. Players progress through programming based on their skill level, experience and individual development. Our coaches focus on building sound fundamentals, confidence, and a positive relationship with the game.

“Why does this player need what I'm teaching right now?” That question guides our coaching and keeps instruction intentional, relevant, and connected to each athlete's growth.
How We Coach

3 Core Principles

Our goal is to develop players who enjoy competing, understand their own game, and possess the drive to continue improving.

01

Competition

Competition is treated as an opportunity to learn, problem-solve, and perform under pressure—not simply as a measure of wins and losses.

02

Self-Assessment

Players learn to evaluate their own performance, recognize patterns, and become active participants in their development.

03

The Drive

We emphasize effort, intrinsic motivation, and progress over perfection to help players build habits that extend beyond tennis.

Compete. Reflect. Improve.
Player Development Pathway

Grow Through Every Stage of the Game

The ATC Pathway takes players from their first rally to playing the game with confidence. Each level ends in a badge, and players move up when their skills are ready, not when they reach a certain age.

Pee Wee

First Steps

First Steps

Our youngest players build athletic skills, racquet and ball control, and simple rallying games, all while learning to love being on court.

Level 1

Rally Ready

Rally Ready

Players learn to rally, serve overhand and keep score. Earning Rally Ready means a player can keep a ball in play and start a point on their own.

Level 2

Competition Ready

Competition Ready

Players add spin, depth and direction so they can play full points and sets. Competition Ready means they are ready for real match play.

Level 3

Proven Ready

Proven Ready

Players build patterns, composure and match smarts. Level 3 completes the ATC Pathway: a Proven Ready player can play the game confidently with friends, family and teammates.

Level 4 Tournament Training

For players who want to compete in USTA tournaments. It's a choice based on your child's interest, not a requirement.

Scholar-Athlete Path

S.A.T. Workshops

Scholar-Athlete Track: for players who put academics first and want to make, and contribute to, their high school JV or Varsity team. Players 11–13 with the Competition Ready badge can start in S.A.T. Foundation.

High-Level Training

Marc Hill Tennis Academy

Our high-level training program, for players with a UTR of 5.0 or higher.

How Players Move Up

  • Levels are based on skill set, not age or ball color.
  • 70% competency is our standard for moving up to the next level.
  • Coaches rate each skill on a simple scale: 0 Not yet · 1 Learning it · 2 In drills · 3 In a game · 4 Owns it.

Evaluations Every Session

Every player receives an evaluation at the end of each session. Parents choose a written evaluation or a development call with the coach, so you always know where your player stands and what comes next.

Current clinic times, levels and openings are always up to date in the ATC App.
